A large percentage of the homes are older holiday homes that have been renovated and upgraded over time. The complexes and security estates in the area are newer developments aged between 5+ to 25 years. The average plot sizes in Onrus range between 500 – 800m2. The average property prices range between R2,000,000 – R4,500,000 with oceanfront properties reaching as much as R10,000,000+. Onrus has a large percentage of holiday homes although over recent years there has been more interest from buyers seeking permanent residences.
Onrus has a number of public amenities including a post office and a petrol station. There are a few quaint pubs and restaurants and a few commercial businesses and retail stores as well as art galleries and coffee shops.
